I really loved the Mistborn trilogy, but this one was disappointing. I don’t like Westerns at all, so all the cowboy-gun-slinging stuff just bogged me down the whole time. I didn’t really like any of the characters except Marasi. I never found myself caring about the conflict, either. In fact, really the only thing I liked about this one was periodic appearances or mentions of characters from the original trilogy. I really thought I would like the book going in, and was very much looking forward to it, but it disappointed me. I’m not sure I’ll continue to read on when further books come out. That makes me sad.
