Only one fic this month. There are two reasons for this. 1) I have like 20 fics I’m reading that are posting chapter by chapter each week, so none of them happened to finish in October. Because I was following so many WIPs, I didn’t have time to read any extra finished fics. 2) AO3 was attacked and the site is down for the next 2-4 weeks. So obviously I won’t be able to finish any more this month. Not sure I’ll finish any in November, either, depending on if AO3 manages to claw its way back online.
So this month, there’s only the one:
First:Β Every Colour of You by thisisshiny and Chandyowlet. Aziraphale has Chromesthesia: he sees sound as color. Crowley has achromatopsia: he doesn’t see color at all. They teach each other new ways to see the world. This was a beautiful story – with one caveat. I didn’t feel like Aziraphale’s experience of the world in color reflects actual Chromesthesia. As someone with color –> grapheme synesthesia, I’m very familiar with how cross-sensory perception works, and while I don’t have sound –> color syn, this didn’t read like syn at all. But maybe I just don’t know. In any case, syn or no syn, it was beautiful.
