Sunday Coffee – House

So on Wednesday, we got big news – an offer on our Wisconsin house! A good offer, too! We were working with our relocation company on how to sign it over and such, when the realtor called to tell us the couple pulled out of the offer. Already. Cold feet. Wife had a “bad feeling” about it. Apparently they hadn’t even seen the house, because they live in Texas (ironic, eh?). An agent had walked through for them and recommended making an offer. So there’s that down the toilet. Sigh.

However, it does appear that our new realtor is making far more of an effort than our old one did. We’ve been with this new realtor for a month now, and we’ve had more showings and more activity than we did in the entire four months we were with the other realtor. And that was during the summer, when activity is high! So, fingers crossed, something else will come up.

Update on the ring: No news, likely not going to be found. Jason and I plan to go ring-shopping on our anniversary, which comes up this Friday.

That’s heartbreaking about the house — we had an offer last year right around Christmas that pulled out a couple weeks later after the inspection, I was devastated. I know how that feels. But I’m glad your new realtor is more pro-active. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

It was so weird – I mean, we got the offer, contacted our relocation person, and then got a call saying the offer was withdrawn, all within an hour. When Jason told me that second part, I thought it was a joke at first. Sigh. But maybe if they’re moving to the area they’ll look at the house later and decide to get it anyway, once seen? We’ll see.

There are few things more frustrating than someone who withdraws an offer on a house. I hope your new realtor can find the right buyers for you soon!

That thoroughly sucks about Jason’s ring, but I hope you have a wonderful time shopping for a new one. What a sweet way to celebrate your anniversary!

I just didn’t understand why you’d make an offer and pull out within the hour, you know? Weird.

We spent our fifth anniversary buying rings, since we didn’t get them when we first got married. 🙂 So it’s kind of a throwback.

  4. Very odd about the house, but hope it will still work out for you…and I still think that’s weird about the ring. I remember reading that on Facebook and just scratching my head. Hope your holidays are less weird than the last couple of weeks. 🙂

Thanks! We tend to go through these twilight-zone moments in our family where everything’s been normal for months and then suddenly a handful of bizarre gets sprinkled in. Or a handful of drama, usually of the everything-in-the-house-is-breaking variety, haha.
